A 22-year-old Ocean View man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges stemming from a fatal hit-and-run collision that took place Jan. 19 in Ocean View.

A 22-year-old Ocean View man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges stemming from a fatal hit-and-run collision that took place Jan. 19 in Ocean View.

Hilo Circuit Judge Glenn Hara ordered Jose Guadalupe-Rodriguez to appear for trial at 9 a.m. Aug. 23 before Kona Circuit Judge Ronald Ibarra.

Guadalupe-Rodriguez is charged with manslaughter, first-degree negligent homicide, leaving the scene of a fatal accident and tampering with physical evidence in connection with a collision that killed 29-year-old moped rider Ling Oniel.

Guadalupe-Rodriguez is in custody at Hawaii Community Correctional Center in lieu of $75,000 bail.
